Indoor Lessons
Indoor swim lesson (currently at Hood College)
Swim lessons using the indoor pool at Hood College in Frederick. The pool is about 80 degrees.
Quietest times weekdays before 3:30. If noise is a concern, select 'lap lanes' on booking site to see quietest times.
For those needing lap lanes or deep water, select 'lap lanes' on booking site. This is when we expect (but are sometimes wrong) lap lanes are available.
Pool fees are already in lesson cost. Unfortunately, you can not enter water early or stay after.
Sharing of pool space/ lanes is expected.
Before the pool are the bathrooms with showers and change area. In winter its kept about 78 deg so warm place to change before going home.
Parents during lesson can sit on the pool deck in a chair or bleachers. OR out of view of the child in the hallway/ lobby.
If your child is orientating to you, it is best to step into the hallway. You can see the, but they won't see you.
Using Hood College's pool is a privilege - employees are working and students studying nearby. Please be courteous, respect and reasonable noise.
Pool closes for snow/ice, and thunder (30 min). Plus some holidays, swim meets and events.

Book lesson time so you aren't rushing.
15 can be challenging at times (especially after 3pm during the week). Consider alternative routes through downtown and/or allow extra time.
If you are running late, its okay. Don't rush or run. Your kids will feel it. We will have a better 25 min lesson if starting calm, then 30 min lesson if starting rushed.
Once at the pool building (yellow star), walk in the door, and proceed straight through the next set of doors to the pool deck. Take a seat and your instructor will be with you shortly.
Jenni has a pink basket that holds toys/ kickboards.
