Private swim lessons

Age: Private (1:1) Swim lessons for ages 3 to 99 years. 

Ability: All abilities from beginner to swim team- including fear, anxiety, and special needs.

Location: Indoor Hood College Pool (year round); we are in the process of building our own indoor facility near Frederick airport. Outdoor pools in Frederick and New Market. 

Availability: As of March 2025, availability Tue-Fri 10-3:30 using the indoor Hood College pool. Weekends are full. Limited, but extremely noisy/ crowded 3:30-4:30pm Tues-Thur availability. We are working hard on opening the new facility. Once it is open, we will have amazing teaching conditions and excellent afterschool/ weekend availability (plus daytime).

Instructor: Consistent swim instructor, every single time! No worrying about whom will teach your child! Your instructor is a human (not robot) and has a family, sleeps and takes breaks. We value our instructors and will not overwork them- so this does mean that an instructor might not be available at your requested day/time.

Beliefs: Serenity Swimming believes children and adults learning to swim is a critical life skill. We teach swim lessons in a fun, positive, and safe manner. Using our best understanding of health and science, we prioritize taking the time to develop safe swimmers. Each private swim lesson is customized and designed around individual goals allowing for focused attention and allow for faster progress. 

Certified in the Swim Whisperers® Program Level 1. The multi-level Swim Whisperers® Certification Program teaches swim instructors the strategies needed to overcome the underlying challenges faced by their swimmers. This advanced adaptive aquatics training empowers instructors with the required tools to effectively teach swimmers with Anxiety, Autism, Trauma, Discomfort, Physical Difficulties, Sensory Issues, Motor Problems and Delays. Pricing: Lessons are $45 for 30 minutes. All lessons are 1:1 for safety. 

Lesson length: We recommend 30 minutes for almost everyone. Exceptions: 2 young children can split 45 min equal (best for those 3 or 4 yrs old), or younger and older sibling (15 min and 30 min) can split 45 min. Only 1 swimmer is in the water at a time. For adults and older children can do 45 min lessons if they really want (30 min is selected and optimum for about 95% of clients; check with instructor first if desire longer lesson).

I haven't heard back, should I reach out?: It depends. Double check your spam- we have noticed some times emails go there. If you filled out Google form (embedded in the website) or email then, we are probably waiting for a spot that matches your availability and needs. If you did not include when you are available, its hard for us to know when you are available. If you reached out via Facebook, text or phone these are often hard to track/ slow response and you should reach out via email/ form. 

1 of our values is kindness and respect- demanding lessons, sending messages daily or believing your child is more important than other Frederick children will result in being skipped over for someone that is respectful (this has sadly happened).
